Economics

The Department of Economics is one of the most distinguished in the world. With over fifty economists appointed both in the department and jointly with the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs, it provides doctoral candidates with state of the art training in all subfields. Of particular relevance to students in the joint degree programs in social policy are the scholars whose fundamental research on inequality has been influential in labor economics and the economics of education and health. Weekly colloquia in the Industrial Relations group, the labor seminar, etc. are open to all members of the Princeton community.

The Economics department does not offer a joint degree, but a limited number of fellowships in social policy are available on a competitive basis for advanced students with serious interest in this field.
