Mareike Kleine

Mareike Kleine is a Visiting Student at the Department of Politics, a Research Fellow at the European Union Program at Princeton, and a doctoral research associate of the Center for Transnational Relations at the Freie Universität Berlin. Her research and policy interests include European Integration and International Relations Theories. In her dissertation she focuses on the effects of domestic welfare systems on the design international organizations.

She works with Prof. Thomas Risse on "Deliberation in European Union Governance” and with Prof. Andrew Moravcsik on “Informal Governance.” She has published several scholarly and policy articles, mostly on European integration. She has worked in the European Parliament, the German Chancellery, the German Bundestag, and trading derivatives in Chicago. She has taught international relations at the Freie Universität Berlin and Princeton University.

Mareike Kleine holds university degrees in Political Science, History and Law from Gießen (B.A.), Brussels and Berlin (M.A.).
